This atlas gathers the most-studied and most-used medicinal plants and mineral and animal extracts in the field of Chinese pharmacopoeia. It describes clearly and precisely the properties and clinical applications of each medicinal remedy. It can serve as a reference for all those interested in the natural power of plants for health.
The indexes make it easy to find plants under their French and botanical names, and their pharmaceutical or Chinese names (international pin-yin transcription).
Traditionally, remedies are chosen and combined synergistically to prepare decoctions tailored to each patient. Today, most ingredients are available as powders and concentrated solutions produced from a decoction, prepared under modern conditions, duly regulated by the international charters of Good Laboratory Practice and Good Manufacturing Practice.
Products deemed toxic or prohibited by CITES (the international Washington Convention on the protection of wild plants and animals) are clearly indicated in this book. This work is complementary to Le manuel illustré des plantes médicinales chinoises.
