The Kunlun Coreopsis is, as its name suggests, native to the uninhabited region of Kunlun, a chain of high mountains located in western China.

An extremely rare variety, the Kunlun Coreopsis (also called the Snow Daisy or Kun lun xue ju in Chinese) only blooms in August once a year.
