Originating in Asia, the Apocyne is a plant used for its stems allowing the manufacture of ropes, but also for the benefits of its leaves (Luo bu ma ye in chinese) on the body.

In chinese pharmacopoeia, Luo bu ma ye is known to calm Liver Yang, clarify Liver Fire, drive out Wind, nourish the Heart and calm Shen. Thus, it is an ally to soothe the head and it contributes to normal tension.
