Native to Eurasia, Common soapwort is a plant recognisable by its blue-grey appearance and pale pink flower. It is relatively unknown in Europe. However, its cooked seeds (Wang bu liu xing in Chinese) are appreciated in Chinese pharmacopoeia for their benefits on the urinary system.

Wang bu liu xing is recommended for soothing urinary discomfort caused by prostate dysfunction. It regulates urine flow and promotes renal elimination while relieving swelling of the prostate. Common soapwort seeds keep the urinary tract healthy and soothes prostate problems.
