Star anise, also called Chinese star anise (or Ba jiao hui xiang in Chinese), is the fruit of the star anise, a tree native to Jiangxi province in China.

Ba jiao hui xiang is a carminative plant : it helps promote digestion and contributes to the normal functioning of the intestinal tract. It is the ideal ally after heavy meals.
