Lotus Seeds - A Treasure of Serenity for Body and Mind
Lotus seeds, or Lian zi (莲子) in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), are harvested from the fruit of the sacred lotus, a symbol of purity, harmony, and spiritual awakening in Asia. Behind their modest appearance lies an unexpected power: a natural ally for restoring inner calm and supporting the body’s energy.
Used since antiquity in both cuisine and wellness rituals, these small ivory seeds with a mild flavor are an integral part of traditional Chinese diet. They can be found in morning porridges as well as evening soups, valued especially for their comforting effect and their ability, according to tradition, to nourish the vital essence (Jing) and recentre inner energy.
A Millennia-Old Tradition for Modern Well-Being
✓ For restless minds: A calming plant ideal in cases of stress, unstable emotions, or intrusive thoughts.
✓ Support during periods of fatigue: By strengthening the Kidneys and the Spleen, Lian zi helps stabilize energy and support vitality.
✓ Versatile and delicious: Easy to incorporate into everyday cooking or to prepare as a decoction, it naturally complements rituals for returning to calm.
A Plant to Recentre and Deeply Nourish
In TCM, Lian zi is known for nourishing the Heart, calming the Shen (Mind), and tonifying the Spleen and Kidneys — organs essential to physical and emotional balance. It is traditionally recommended in cases of sleep disturbances, overwork, or when emotions become difficult to manage.
Its gentle, stabilizing nature makes it a precious plant for those who are sensitive, fatigued, or seeking to restore lasting inner peace.
