What makes this smokeless moxa different
A renowned origin: Qichun, the emblematic homeland of Qiai mugwort
- Produced in Qichun, Hubei Province, China, this smokeless moxa comes from a region historically associated with Qiai (Qichun mugwort), renowned throughout China for its quality.
- This mugwort is appreciated for its thick leaves, rich plant material, and high moxa fiber yield — qualities sought after for steady combustion and consistent heat.
A process of carbonization and compression
- This smokeless moxa is made from carbonized mugwort, then compressed under high pressure into dense, uniform sticks.
- This process gives it its characteristic black color, greatly reduces smoke, and promotes a more stable burn.
- A slight black residue may appear on the fingers during handling; this is normal for carbonized moxa.
A cleaner and more comfortable experience
- Thanks to its greatly reduced smoke output, this moxa offers a more pleasant experience, with less inconvenience from smoke and odor.
- Its elongated shape allows for a longer burn time, while maintaining steady and consistent heat throughout use.
- After burning, the ash remains more compact and disperses less easily, providing a cleaner and more reassuring experience.

Instructions for use
The moxa sticklet is intended for indirect moxibustion, allowing gentle and progressive heat to be diffused without direct contact with the skin. It is suitable for both personal practice and supervised use.
Ignition
- Light the moxa sticklet at one end using a lighter or a candle.
- Allow it to burn until it emits an even red ember, indicating that the heat is properly activated.
Application
- Hold the sticklet a few centimetres away from the skin, above acupressure points or the desired areas.
- Maintain sufficient distance to deliver a pleasant warmth, without any burning sensation or direct contact.
For safer and more precise handling, it is possible to use moxa tongs, making it easier to hold the sticklet during the session.
Duration
- Maintain the warmth on each point for 3 to 5 minutes, or according to your comfort and needs.
- Adjust the distance or duration if the heat becomes too intense.
End of the session
- Extinguish the sticklet by placing it in a non-flammable container, such as a bowl of sand or a dedicated box.
- Make sure the sticklet is completely extinguished before storing it.
For sticklets with a diameter of Ø 1.8 cm, the use of a stainless-steel moxa extinguisher, designed for this format, is recommended to ensure safe and clean extinguishing.
Usage tip: depending on your needs, the moxa sticklet can be broken or cut to obtain shorter segments, similar to cut moxa, to be used with an appropriate holder.
