Description

The Imperial Ginseng: the gentle energy of inner balance

Appreciated for centuries in traditional Chinese medicine, Dang Shen — also known as Imperial Ginseng — is renowned for its ability to strengthen vital energy, harmonize digestion, and support overall well-being.

This mild yet effective root helps combat fatigue, promotes appetite, and contributes to maintaining daily vitality. Often regarded as a gentler alternative to true ginseng, Imperial Ginseng is a trusted plant for restoring vital energy in a balanced way.

A root at the heart of modern research

Recent studies have explored its potential to support natural defenses, promote harmonious digestion, stimulate blood production, and contribute to global vitality — thus aligning with traditional uses recognized for centuries. Imperial Ginseng embodies a harmonious alliance between ancestral wisdom and modern science, nurturing both body and mind on a daily basis.

Versatile and easy to integrate into modern life, Imperial Ginseng serves as a natural ally for recovery after exertion, supporting the health of seniors, and gently nourishing both body and spirit in a sustainable way.

Millennia of tradition, harmonious vitality

Gentle energy & vitality:

In TCM, Imperial Ginseng is known for tonifying Qi and strengthening the Spleen and Lungs in a smooth and progressive way. It helps reduce fatigue, supports endurance, and facilitates recovery after periods of effort or intense activity.

Digestive support & metabolic balance:

Thanks to its richness in polysaccharides and flavonoids, Imperial Ginseng promotes harmonious digestion and a balanced metabolism. It helps the body assimilate energy from food, particularly by regulating blood sugar, and maintains a feeling of lightness and comfort throughout the day.

Natural defenses & body protection:

Traditionally used to strengthen the body during seasonal changes, Imperial Ginseng helps support natural defenses and maintain stable, long-lasting vitality.

Its active compounds help sustain the body’s overall equilibrium, fostering long-term well-being and an enduring sense of energy.

Usages

As an infusion – Start your day with balanced energy

  • Use 3 pieces of Imperial Ginseng
  • Infuse in hot water (80–90 °C) for 10 minutes
  • Drink the infusion and eat the slices
  • Can be reinfused once according to your taste

Dang Shen infusion offers a warm and gentle drink, ideal for supporting daily vitality.

For enhanced effect, add 3 red dates and 5 g of goji berries to your cup with the Imperial Ginseng, then pour in hot water. Enjoy it like tea — this infusion helps tonify Qi, nourish the blood, and sustain energy, making it ideal for those who are weak or prone to fatigue.

As a decoction – To strengthen the body and boost energy

  • Use 5 to 10 g of Imperial Ginseng
  • Bring to a boil in 500 mL of water
  • Simmer gently for 20 to 30 minutes
  • Strain and drink warm — richer and more invigorating than a simple infusion

The decoction of Imperial Ginseng releases more active compounds, offering optimal benefits for the body.

Nourishing porridge with Dang Shen – To support digestion and tonify Qi

Combining Imperial Ginseng, Chinese yam (Shan Yao), Job’s tears (Yi Yi Ren), and a bit of rice, this soft and creamy porridge gently supports digestion and restores energy. It is ideal for those with delicate digestion, poor appetite, or fatigue.
