The Glossy Privet or Chinese Privet is a small leafy tree native to the Far East. Chinese privet seeds, also called ligust seeds, are classified in Chinese medicine among the herbs that tonify Yin.

Indeed, Nu zhen zi is reputed to nourish and tone the Yin of the Liver and Kidney, organs essential to sexual health in TCM. Thus, it contributes to increase the desire and it constitutes an aid in the face of hot flashes. Nu zhen zi acts to improve the well-being of women.

Place 10-15 g of seeds in 500 mL of water, macerate for 20 minutes, bring to the boil and simmer for 20 minutes before serving.
