Originally from the plains of northern China, the white peony has been used since the 6th century BC for its many benefits. Its root (Bai shao yao in Chinese) is recommended by traditional Chinese medicine for its action on the Blood and the Liver.

Indeed, Bai shao yao nourishes the Blood and calms the Yang of the Liver. These two actions give it soothing properties on the mind and on the menstrual cycle.

• Herbal tea : Place 10-15 g roots in 500 mL water. Steep for 10 minutes, bring to the boil and simmer for 20 minutes before serving.

• Concentrated powder : two pods (3g) to be taken morning and evening outside of meals. Dilute the dose of powder in a small cup of boiling water, mix well and drink.

• Capsules : Swallow three capsules with a large glass of water morning and evening outside of meals.
