Ku shen or Bitter Ginseng are names that actually refer to a totally different plant from Ginseng that grows in Asia, Oceania and the Pacific Islands.
Ku shen is used in Chinese pharmacopoeia for its benefits on the skin : it fights impurities and evacuates toxicities from the outside (e.g. pollution) at the origin of irritations, redness, itching and imperfections. Thus, thanks to its purifying properties, this plant improves the health of the skin and soothes sensitivities of all kinds.

Concentrated powder : two pods (3g) to be taken morning and evening outside of meals. Dilute the dose of powder in a small cup of boiling water, mix well and drink.

Capsules : Swallow three capsules with a large glass of water morning and evening outside of meals.
Herbal tea : Place 10-15 g roots in 500 mL water. Steep for 10 minutes, bring to the boil and simmer for 20 minutes before serving.
