Description
Jasmine, a gentle presence in everyday life
When its flowers open and release their delicate fragrance, jasmine never imposes itself: it envelops, it softens, it invites us to slow down. Deep yet never overpowering, its scent leaves a feeling of clarity and inner calm.
Often chosen instinctively, jasmine accompanies moments when we feel the need to breathe more freely, to release accumulated tension, and to return to a sense of simplicity.
Introduced to China over two thousand years ago under the name Mo Li Hua (茉莉花), jasmine became part of daily life long before it was regarded as a remedy. It accompanied simple gestures (scenting tea, lightening a meal, calming the mind without constraint), eventually becoming a sung and familiar symbol shared across generations.
A Traditional Chinese Medicine perspective
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, jasmine is traditionally associated with calming the Shen, the spirit. It is said to help loosen emotional tension and encourage a smoother flow of energy, particularly when stress, internal heat, or restrained emotions disturb balance.
Its gentle and light nature makes jasmine especially suitable for states of mental overload or inner agitation, when calming is needed without weakening the body.
A flower for everyday moments, between softness and lightness
Jasmine naturally finds its place in moments of transition: at the end of the day, after an intense period, or simply when one wishes to grant oneself a pause. Its light infusion accompanies these moments without heaviness, inviting a gradual return to calm.
It may be enjoyed on its own, or combined with other gentle flowers or plants, such as green tea, rose, or a few goji berries, creating a harmonious and refined infusion.
